10.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday.

This exhibition will show an extensive range of limited edition prints from the last decade and a small group of rarely seen original paintings by Jack Vettriano.

Jack Vettriano was born in 1951 in Fife, Scotland. He left school at sixteen to become a mining engineer. For his twenty-first birthday, a girlfriend gave him a set of watercolour paints and, from then on, he spent much of his spare time teaching himself to paint.

In 1989, he submitted two paintings to the Royal Scottish Academy's annual exhibition; both were accepted and sold on the first day. The following year, an equally enthusiastic reaction greeted the three paintings, which he entered for the prestigious Summer Exhibition at London's Royal Academy and his new life as an artist began.

In 2004 Vettriano's best known painting, The Singing Butler was sold at Sotheby's for close to 750,000. This made it an exceptional year as he was also featured in the South Bank Show documentary entitled 'Jack Vettriano: The People's Painter' and was awarded an OBE for services to the Visual Arts.

His artworks have become loved and admired across the world, and his intimate and honest depictions have struck a chord with ordinary folk, who see Vettriano's classic compositions and chic depictions as a breath of fresh air in the increasingly complex world of modern art.

Having lived in London for several years he has now moved back to Edinburgh in his native Scotland.
